| Pin Shortcuts to Windows 7’s Taskbar |

Windows 7 allows you to “pin” your favorite or most used applications to the Taskbar so that you can easily and quickly access them.
1. Open the Start Menu and browse to the application you want to pin the the Start Menu.
2. Right-click the application in the Start Menu and then select Pin to Taskbar.
3. Now the application will be pinned to the Taskbar.
To unpin a shortcut from the Taskbar, right-click the pinned shortcut and then select Unpin this program from taskbar. |

| Boot Up Windows 7 in Safe Mode |

Safe Mode loads only the necessary services and drivers to run Windows. It’s used to remove malware and fix problems caused by faulty drivers or services.
How do I Start Windows 7 in Safe Mode?
1. Restart the computer.
2. As soon as the computer starts to boot up start pressing F8 repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
3. Select Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, or Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
What is the difference between Safe Modes?
- Safe Mode: Loads only the necessary services and drivers to start Windows.
- Safe Mode with Networking: Loads necessary services and drivers to start Windows including ones needed for networking capabilities such as Internet access.
- Safe Mode with Command Prompt: Loads necessary services and drivers to start Windows and the ability to run the command prompt for use with troubleshooting problems.

By default, Windows Messenger is installed by Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition, and the user interface does not provide a way to remove or to uninstall Windows Messenger. The information in this article applies to Microsoft Windows Messenger 4.0, Microsoft Windows Messenger 4.5, and Microsoft Windows Messenger 4.6 running on Windows XP Professional and Windows XP home edition based computers.

| Tired of seeing your pointer as an arrow or an hourglass all the time? Windows XP offers a number of alternative pointer schemes, such as Dinosaur, Ocean and Sports.
Open the Control Panel, double-click Mouse, and select the Pointers tab. (If you start in Category view, select Appearance and Themes, then click Mouse Pointers under "See Also.") | Windows XP - Missing Administrator account |

| Once you have created regular user accounts, the default Administrator account vanishes from the Welcome screen, which you see when the computer starts up. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice at the Welcome screen to retrieve the standard logon dialog. You can log on as Administrator from here. To switch among accounts, just click the Log Off button on the Start menu. You'll then see the Log Off Windows dialog box.
